The U of M Club of Greater Detroit will hold our next Monthly Meeting at the Troy Marriott, 200 West Big Beaver Rd, Troy, MI 48084 on Wednesday, May 11th at 12:00 pm (Please note the day and location change). Please join us to mingle and network with fellow Wolverines from all across the Metro Detroit area. We will announce our upcoming social, community service and business networking events.
We will combine our Health and Wellness Series with our monthly lunch as we listen to a presentation watch a video on the planning and construction for the new DMC Children's Hospital. We will have lunch at the Marriott and those that are interested can join us for a tour of the new hospital. See the state of the art facility next door to the Marriot and how the DMC engineered the facility to make it consumer friendly for its patients.
At this meeting, and subsequent monthly meetings, we will be collecting donations of new or gently used bedding and pillows to benefit Humble Design, a local non-profit which assists families emerging from homeless and abuse shelters by using donated goods to transform an empty house into a welcoming place to call home (www.humbledesign.org). If you choose, please bring any of the following items to donate:
Sheet sets, pillow cases, shams, and comforters in twin, full and queen sizes - with a particular need for kids' themed bedding, throw blankets, standard bed pillows and throw pillows. Donated items can be new or gently used with no rips or stains. We will collect at each meeting and get the items to Humble Design for distribution. Thank you in advance for your help towards this worthwhile U of M Club of Greater Detroit project.
