The U of M Club of Greater Detroit is inviting alum for an informal night out at Mirepoix Cooking School – Holiday Market, Royal Oak on Friday, June 20, 2014, 5:30pm-9pm. Mirepoix is located at 1203 South Main Street, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
Mirepoix is metro Detroit’s pre-eminent resource for culinary education, where each cooking class provides an excursion into the world of cooking. Our U of M event will feature a cooking demonstration performed by one of Mirepoix’s chef instructors. It will be a strolling dinner with heavy Hors d'oeuvres served by Mirepoix’s resident wait staff. Cash bar will be available, menu is TBD, and will be listed soon. Copies of the recipes will be provided at the end of the night.
The event is open to all alumni of the University of Michigan. U of M Club of Greater Detroit alum come from all areas of metro Detroit and our attendees usually range from recent graduates to seasoned veterans.

The evening's event demonstrations and menu:
Cooking Demonstration 1
The chef instructor will demonstrate how to make our pesto shrimp for the guests while the pesto shrimp are tray passed by Mirepoix wait staff
Cooking Demonstration 2
The chef instructor will demonstrate how to make our Spinach artichoke phyllo cups for the guests while the actual phyllo cups are tray passed by Mirepoix wait staff
Passed Hors d'oeuvres
- Pesto Shrimp served on a skewer
- Miniature Spinach and Artichoke Phyllo Cups our popular dip served in a bite-sized shell
Stationary Hors d'oeuvres
- Extra-large Beef Tenderloin Platter served with roasted garlic and mustard potato salad or Mediterranean couscous, horseradish cream, and assorted rolls with butter
- Homemade Grilled Pizzas with a variety of gourmet toppings
- Chicken Skewers two ounce slice of lemon-garlic chicken woven onto a bamboo skewer; served with tsatziki sauce on side
- Vegetable Pasta Salad with broccoli, julienne red, orange, and yellow peppers, chickpeas, and celery seed dressing
